Revvity's software business, Revvity Signals Software, has announced Signals LabGistics, an AI-led product for planning and coordinating lab work across research, tech transfer and manufacturing. The launch release went out on 20 October 2026, and Revvity expects the product to reach customers in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan in December.
What it does
The core idea is that a scientist describes a process in ordinary language, or hands over an existing standard operating procedure, and the software converts it into a structured workflow that people and systems can follow. On top of that sits an orchestration layer that links the teams, instruments and software involved.
Revvity also lists live monitoring of each workflow across several tiers of execution, so managers can see where work is stuck, plus a single place for the resulting data and insight. Revvity says keeping data in one place improves visibility and traceability, which is what regulated buyers will look at first.
Built for regulated work
Revvity is pitching LabGistics at two audiences. For pharma and biotech, the selling point is keeping GxP compliance intact as work moves between connected environments. For specialty chemicals and materials companies, the message is about adding as little regulatory overhead as possible.
The company says the product works with existing lab and manufacturing platforms and that it plans to reach into adjacent systems over time. That matters, because most labs already run a mix of LIMS, ELN and instrument software that nobody wants to rip out.
Kevin Willoe, president of Revvity Signals Software, presents the product as a fix for coordination: the hard part of modern science is keeping people, systems and development stages in step. Trade title Indian Pharma Post reported the launch the same day, highlighting the familiar pain points of fragmented systems and manual handoffs, especially when a process moves from R&D into manufacturing.
What we don't know yet
The release names no customers, gives no pricing and sets no exact ship date beyond December. It went out as a Business Wire press release, so for now the detail comes from Revvity alone. For scale, Revvity reported 2025 revenue of $2.9 billion and has around 11,000 employees.
The bigger picture
LabGistics landed five days after Benchling launched Science Foundries, which we covered separately, and on the same day OpenAI said it had bought Orchestra Bio. Each is a bet that the next layer of value in lab software is running whole processes, not just recording them. Revvity's angle is the regulated path from discovery into production, where incumbents with GxP credentials have an edge over newer AI entrants.
What it means for hiring
- Orchestration software sells across R&D, quality and manufacturing at once. We'd expect demand for solution consultants and account leads who can speak GxP and tech transfer, not just discovery.
- Turning real SOPs into working digital workflows is hands-on implementation work. Validation specialists and implementation consultants with lab or QA backgrounds look like the scarce profile.
- A December release means customer onboarding in early 2027, so post-sale and customer success capacity is likely to be the near-term pressure point.
